Gateway murder trial

The pink rag

with 2 comments

The pink rag really has nothing to do with this case. It was found on the street side of the Andrews property. It could have come from anywhere or anyone.

I have always thought it was irrelevant and even the prosecution said in its closing – the pink rag is not related to this case.

Also, the DNA of “another” male isn’t true either – if you’re talking about the “foreign alleles” The defense talked about and tried to get the DNA expert to say it was from another male.

She said that it was merely contamination. There was not enough of a third profile to show there was a third profile there. The defense latched on to the idea of a third person in the room to raise reasonable doubt. The DNA expert really tried to set the defense straight about the fact it wasn’t a complete profile.

If you’re referring to a different DNA item, let me know…I am getting a little brain dead now.

  2. ok, so it sounds as if it’s going to be a hung jury – which, I guess, is good (in my opinion) – hopefully the prosecution can build a stronger case next time and prove there is no doubt…..
