Gateway murder trial

No lunch “break” for jury

with 15 comments

The jury will not be leaving the deliberation room for lunch. They will have to deliberate while they eat.

The next time we’ll see them is their afternoon break – unless there’s a verdict.

  1. I think that’s a FANTASTIC idea, perhaps that should have been the schedule from the beginning?!?! I eat my lunch at my desk ALL the time when faced with an important task at work!! Those lunch breaks add up and help to finish the “project” rather swiftly1!!

Here’s to hoping for a verdict today!!!!

  3. I think if I had to make the decision to send this guy away for the rest of his life (or death) based on what i’ve read, then i’m not sure what I whould do.I think he did it because of the media when it happend. And his lies. But we will see Soon I hope.

  4. All of my lunch breaks are in the office and work is uninterrupted. This is acceptable to me. No interruptions. I’d like to see what outher countries allow deliberations and for more than one day. Coming up on +23 hours now??? Ok but I wish they could come to an agreement or kick one out. Justice time.

  7. Melissa – will you tell the News Press person that their live feed is no longer. Now I’m solely relying on you – at least before I could see nothing was going on too…….

  10. I’m not trying to break any Child labor laws here! :>)

Was there ever anything said, on or off the record, of
what Lukasz might have said he saw? I know it wouldn’t be entered into anything official. Or more importantly have they just shielded him, and never asked?

  11. I wonder if Lukas remembers he would be what 5 now. I wonder if he saw Fred if he would be like he was there that night that would be so weird.

  12. I havent read or heard anything of this. I dont think that they would consider questioning the child because of his age. He would probably be left out of this completely due to the nature of the crime and his age.

  14. I have a child that is 2 now and their memory is just, and I mean just, starting to me more than a few hours and them be able to verbalize it and get the point across…however, they are a lot smarter than we give them credit for…Questioning of Lukasz was obviously not an option but I wonder what he would have done a few years ago if even given a picture of Cooper or been allowed to see him through a window…interesting….

I had asked a question yesterday about the Andrews’ 4 Runner and someone informed me that it was processed and found to have a child seat in the back in the middle of the row…so I decided to research this…I did read somewhere that was in fact true…so when Cooper pulled his BS story card, why didn’t the prosecution bring that up…if they really had sex in the back seat would they have moved the car seat and then bothered to strap it back in when they were done?…as mentioned before, I have a 2 year old, the big bulky car seats they get into after the infant carriers are very hard to install and take out…surely a mans duty, if you want it in there properly…

    Just a thought….

And the fact that the sheets/duvet cover weren’t processed still kills me…

  15. #Jon

Gee thanks for that Jon. If you didn’t get the hint I was aware of that from my post.

There was a case up north last year where a 2 year old made a comment that “mommy was sleeping in the rug” or something like that. That seemingly innocent remark was insturmental in the investigation that the killer(s) had wrapped the mothers body in a rug and carried her out. That was my point, but obviously there was not in this case. Or they’re not mentioning it.
