Gateway murder trial

Listening to Cooper’s testimony

with 7 comments

So we’re listening to this again, and at first it’s just specifics about where he lived and when.

One of the things I noticed the first time around – every time he says Kellie’s name, he says “Kellie Ballew” instead of just Kellie.

Not sure what impact that might have on the jury, but there was a reason for it I’m sure.

  1. So, what’s playing right now is the taped testimony from Cooper?….who is the female asking the questions?…part of the defense?

  2. Impact of Fred referring to Michelle and Steven by first name only and Kellie formally is probably a ploy by the defense to subconciously say to the jurors that he was friendly with the couple, while distancing himself from Kellie…if he comes across distanced from her then how could he possibly have murdered his friends for a woman he obviously isn’t that close to? Just a thought

  7. Funny how Fred says in one of his first statements to detectives that him and Kellie have had similar problems in the past yet he claimed he had no reason to be suspicious of her even when she became distant and cold. If they had these problems before, wouldn’t he be very suspicious of her?
