Gateway murder trial

Impasse

with 2 comments

The judge read what sounded like a prepared “jury instruction” that basically said they had to go back to the jury room and continue to deliberate. They have to allow each juror to speak and have their say and then they have to try to come to an agreement.

If they still can’t come to an agreement, the judge will declare a mistrial.

(I wrote this a few minutes ago but for some reason it’s not showing up)

  2. This is normal for when a jury takes this long to deliberate. I’m just wondering if the judge will allow another day or not.

  1. Oh No! Is the judge directing them to try again or questioning them?

  2. Is that the same as hung?

  3. I think so, but sometimes the judge directs them to continue deliberating before he will declare it a hung jury. Sometimes they poll each jury member to see if they may consider changing their position upon further deliberation.

  4. I can’t believe it!!! Those of us who live/lived in the neighrborhood at the time thought this would be a slam dunk. If there was anything going on between Cooper and Michele WHY wouldn’t he have said so right at the beginning? I am really disappointed. They have let the game be played against them.
