Gateway murder trial

Jury going to lunch

with 11 comments

The jury had a question, but then decided not to ask it. They came into the courtroom, an then left to go to lunch.

I’m here so I’ll keep you updated if anything changes.

  2. I was wondering also how long a lunch they get… but figured they have probably been back…but with nothing to report… no blog. Only so much you can report on the bustling activities going on in the hallway.

  7. I agree with you all, it is rather tough waiting for the verdict. However, the jury has a pretty tough job as well. They have to base their decisions on fact, although DNA at the crime scene is fact, they still have to go over each and every piece of evidence, as well as the testimony they heard. That have to be sure they make the right decision. Two lives have already been lost, it is important for them to be sure that if there’s a third life to be lost, Fred Cooper’s in this case, that is was based on fact, and evidence, not emotion, dislike or event hate.

Don’t get me wrong here folks, I feel as though Fred Cooper is guilty, my feelings are pretty concrete in that regard. However, you have to consider, 12 people together, working out 12 different opinions and views, it takes time to become one view, and one opinion – one final verdict.

Thanks again Melissa…hope things are going well there in the hall, I appreciate you hanging in there!

  11. I would love to be in their shoes. I’d give Fred Cooper the evil eye the entire trial and be the first person to say “guilty as charged on all accounts” the moment deliberations started.
